Verizon launched 4G LTE (Long Term Evolution) service on Dec, 5. It provides speeds of 5-12 Mbps down and 2-5 Mbps up, and is available in 38 major metropolitan markets and over 60 airports. So, the coverage area is really great.
But we don’t have LTE-capable mobile phones yet, so there is one way to try the service by choosing 4G USB modems.
LTE-service is very fast but Verizon’s data plans aren’t very cheap:
It might become more popular with the appearance of LTE-enable mobile phones, that are going to be available at the beginning of 2011
