Taiwan's Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) predicts that in 2011 market share of tablets running Android OS will increase up to 25%.
General Director of ITRI's Industrial Economics and Knowledge centre (IEK)- Mr Stephen Su mentioned that in 2010 there was an unbelievable growth of tablets running Android from 2 to 23% and the overall number of devices tripled.
The national research admitted that next year is going to be very productive for Android-based mobile phones and will be shipped six time more handsets comparatively with the current year.
Speaking at the pre-show press conference for the Computex 2011 technology trade show, Mr Su said that Taiwainese companies can easily compete with Apple and even win – due to a better attitude to their customers – based on their real needs.
