Google Developers Group
I am first day back from California and I am truly excited for several reasons:
1) we had exclusive meetings at Google leaders & Google Tech User Group (GTUG) managers from all over the world -- it was absolutely awesome. In case you don't realize our Chicago chapter is one of the oldest and most active with over 35 meetings so far. Overall, there are currently 228 cities participating at the rate of about 1,000 meeting happening per year. We are working on making relationships between chapters much closer and fun.
2) many of you have heard my talks over last year about putting Android/Arduino on other devices than phones and tablets and finally Google came out with Accessory Development Kit & APIs
3) As you may know at Sears / Kenmore we have a line of appliances (fridge, washer, dryer, dishwasher, etc.) running Android. Now Google came out with Android@home Tungsten project. It will be interesting how all of that will work together in the future. Very exciting!
4) NFC will be the thing for 2011 - 2012, it is a very simple, yet useful technology. Incredibly exciting!
There is more, but for that please come to our meeting.
