Android Development Opportunity

My client located just outside Chicago has an immediate need for an Anroid developer. The client is currently in the process of designing and developing an extremely complicated Android application. When completed the client plans on utilizing customized Android tablet devices to operate large scale industrial equipment. They currently have tablet devices running on Windows CE and want to move completely to Android. The client's requirements are below. The initial contract is slated for 1 year to start but the hiring manager has said the project will most likely be budgeted for 2-3 years.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop custom GUI elements using Java      and Android
• Implement Android views, activities, fragments,      and other UI components to meet application requirements and that are      scalable to different size renderings.
• Work with the graphics design team to understand      application requirements, and advise on efficient UI solutions as needed.
• Work with back-end software engineers to design      interfaces for storage and retrieval of UI data.
• Use leading edge techniques in graphics UI      development to efficiently implement styles, themes, gradients,      animations, transparencies, layouts and other components of the Android      API.
• Handle all user input via touchscreen, including      multi-touch, pinch, swipe.
• Write software specifications that describe the      design, structure, and interfaces of software components.

Requirements

• Degree preferred
• 2+ years experience developing applications using      Android with focus on front-end UI (tablet development a plus)
• Expert knowledge of Android UI classes
• Proficient in Java
• Working knowledge of Android source for UI      classes is a plus
